One more photo comparison should probably be shown before moving on and that is a shot of the former Trust Company Bank alongside a picture of Congregation Beth Jacob, located at 1855 Lavista Drive NE.
Though I have probably passed by Congregation Beth Jacob about a thousand times since I moved to Atlanta in 1987, I somehow never made the connection about the close resemblance of these two buildings until a few weeks ago. Perhaps it's because when driving by on Lavista, large magnolia trees, which seem to never lose their thick green leaves, do a good job of obscuring one's view of the building. The shot below was taken from the parking lot on the building's back side and looking toward Lavista Road.
I'll have
to check around to see if I can find out the story
behind this close resemblance, if there is one.
