In the 1960s, Atlanta's premiere western wear store was Russells Western Store on Stewart Avenue, just south of its intersection with Cleveland Avenue.  In the 1990s, Stewart Avenue was rechristened Metropolitan Parkway by the Atlanta City Council, which has apparently never met a street it hasn't wanted to rename.   Admittedly, it's a bit of a challenge in 2011 to imagine heading for Metropolitan Parkway to shop for western boots, cowboys hats, string ties, square dance outfits and saddle gear, but things do change.     Google map

Another postcard for Russells can be found on the "Next Photo" page.
