Joe Rogers is pictured on the cover of his book, Who's Looking Out for the Poor Old Cash Customer? Rogers was born and grew up in the town of Jackson, Tennessee. Later, he moved to Memphis before relocating to the Atlanta area to serve as a vice-president of the Toddle House restaurant chain, established in 1932. (Toddle House was founded by Fred Smith. His son Frederick Wallace Smith started Federal Express.) Rogers' book was published in 2000 and given out to friends, so you probably shouldn't spend too much time trying to find it in your local bookstore. I borrowed heavily from a fine article in the Chicago Sun-Times for the information on this page. BACK TO WAFFLE HOUSE THUMBNAILS
