Seen here is a 1949 map of downtown Atlanta, taken from the pages of the publication Gay Atlanta, which was a free weekly digest-sized magazine that highlighted tourist destinations and entertainment options.  It's pretty fascinating to check it out to verify some of the locations of landmarks that have been torn down, such as the Loew's Grand Theatre, the Carnegie Library, the Grady Hotel, the Piedmont Hotel, and the Paramount Theatre.  It's also amazing to see what used to be where Woodruff Park is now, just a few yards north of Five Points.
