This 1964 photo looks north by northwest toward the Heart Of Atlanta motel and the northern edge of downtown beyond that. It looks to me like the photo was taken from the roof of the Landmark Condos building at 215 Piedmont. Until I can get up there to take a contemporary photo, the street level modern picture below will have to suffice. Google map

Of Atlanta is where the downtown Hilton Hotel now
sits. Incidentally, the Heart Of Atlanta was at the
heart of a major U.S. Supreme Court decision involving civil
