Here's Steve Myers review of Poor Pretty Eddie from the 05/27/75 edition of the Red And Black newspaper.  To say that Myers detested the movie would not be an understatement.   I found it interesting that Myers reports when the film premiered at the Atlanta International Film Festival, it received "a standing booing ovation" which underscores the fact that Myers wasn't alone in his distaste for the movie.  Admittedly, it's not a film for everyone but those with an appreciation for offbeat drive-in type exploitation movies or an appreciation of local history should find it worth watching.

I didn't know it at the time I put it in my Netflix queue, but Turner Classic Movies ran this title a couple months ago (in November 2009).  Go here to read Jeff Stafford's write up for the TCM website.  I kind of skipped over a lot of the unseemly plot details, but Stafford offers a much more detailed synopsis.
