The Great Southeastern Fair was an annual event at Lakewood Fairgrounds beginning in 1915 until the mid-1970s.  I don't think the fairgrounds ever looked quite as enchanting as the "artist's conception" postcard below depicts.  The Spanish Colonial style exhibition halls remain standing and the old fairgrounds is now home to a large movie studio, EUE / Screen Gems.            Google map
