Via the Atlanta History Center's photo archive, here's a 1960 picture looking roughly to the west along Ponce de Leon Avenue from its intersection with Juniper Street.  The Hotel Georgian Terrace (these days it's the Georgian Terrace Hotel) standing at the NE corner of Ponce and Peachtree Street, dominates the landscape.  The hotel opened in 1911 and in in the early 1990s a major addition to the hotel, visible in the lower photo to the right of the original structure, was completed.  Also visible in the 1960 photo is the backside of the Cox-Carlton Hotel; it's the red brick structure on to the right of the Georgian Terrace.  Lower photo: August, 2013.        Google map
