Phyllis Wheatley was a gifted poet who was born into slavery around 1753 and died in Boston in 1784.
The back of this card indicates that the building is on Tattnall Street, which is spelled "Tatnall" on current maps. Oddly, this building now has a Mitchell St. address. (It's located at the corner where Mitchell St. turns into Tatnall St.)
