First National Bank construction, 1959

Looking northeast across Peachtree Street toward the construction of the stylishly modern North Avenue branch of the First National Bank in 1959. Another "under construction" shot can be found on the next page. The main office, located a little less than a mile south at Five Points, can be seen on this postcard. In 2006, the beautiful building (not yet completed in this photo) was demolished to make way for two residential condo towers.
