Here's a 1953 photo of Marietta Street taken during the construction of the Fulton National Bank building at 55 Marietta Street.  Previously, this spot was the home of Atlanta's City Hall between the years of 1911 and 1930, when the new City Hall building on Mitchell Street was completed.  That structure was originally built as the United States Post Office and Custom House and completed in 1878.  The building on the left in this photo, known as the Walton Place building these days, was formerly a Georgia Power building.  Image courtesy of Georgia State University Library (File number LBSFS1-154a).          Google map
