From the intersection of Peachtree Street and Eleventh Street, this 1962 photo shows the view looking south along Peachtree toward downtown.  Things have obviously changed dramatically along this stretch of Midtown, as you can see from the March 2013 photo below, which is dominated by numerous skyscrapers.  However, there are a few things from the 1962 photo that are still around, like the former drug store (Jacob's) on the left and we can see the distinct triangular roofline of the 1915 Phelan Apartments in both photos, too.  And directly behind the Phelan building, the Peachtree Lofts, formerly a government office building, is still hanging in there as well.     Google map
