Seen on this undated postcard is the Briarcliff Hotel, located at 1040 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE. The hotel, completed in 1925, was designed by G. Lloyd Preacher who was also responsible for the Medical Arts Building, the Winecoff Hotel, and the 1930 City Hall building on Mitchell Street. Google map
In the 1970s, the Briarcliff Hotel was converted to apartments for senior citizens. Thanks to Valerie Emerick and John Dupree for sending in these scans. You remember their previous contribution, right?
