The Admiral Benbow Inn serves as an inviting backdrop to this 1969 photo promoting a WSB safe driving contest.  The featured car, an Opel, was made by a General Motors subsidiary company headquartered in Germany.  The Admiral Benbow building still stands at 1470 Spring Street NW, but is no longer a motel.  These days it's known as Spring House, and serves as dormitory space for the nearby SCAD (Savannah Colllege of Art & Design).  Courtesy of the Georgia State University Library Archives, file M004_2064_1969.     Google map
