This historical style bronze plaque hangs on the wall of the 1,000th Waffle House, which is located in Avondale Estates just up the road from the original restaurant. Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue appeared at this restaurant on August 16, 2005 to help celebrate their impending 50th anniversary. Reportedly, he even manned the grill for a few minutes.
