This postcard of the Hotel Ansley comes courtesy of Dr. Don L. Ariail.  The Hotel Ansley was built in 1913 by Edwin P. Ansley, the developer of Ansley Park.  The building, located at the corner of Forsyth Street and Williams Street, was sold in 1953 and renamed the Dinkler Plaza Hotel.  The Dinkler chain owned hotels in a number of southeastern cities, including Macon, Savannah, New Orleans, Greensboro, Montgomery, Birmingham and Nashville.

In 1973, the Dinkler was demolished.  A color postcard of this hotel can be seen here.     Google map
