This picture was taken in February 2009 and shows some of the changes that have been part of a project called Renaissance Walk At Sweet Auburn, a 48.5 million dollar effort to revitalize the neighborhood, which functioned as the unofficial heart of Atlanta's black community for several decades.
In June 2007, this project was the focus of an informative article published in the New York Times.
