This photo, from the LIFE magazine archives, shows the parade the city organized to welcome the Braves to Atlanta in early 1966.  This view shows the parade marching south toward Five Points.  In the background, the Candler Building can be seen behind the Bond and Zachry signs.  Much more baseball-related material can be found here.  A pair of tickets for the Braves 1966 season opener can be glimpsed elsewhere on this site. 

The commercial buildings on the right were all gone by 1973, when they were bulldozed to make way for Central City Park which can be seen here.        Google map
