Flatiron Building under construction

This fantastic photo was harvested from a family photo album by reader Paul Lycett. As you can see, the construction on the Flatiron Building (known originally as the English American Building) was still underway. Since the building was completed in 1897, I'd say that this photo most likely dates to 1896 or 1897.
