Model railroader Joseph L. Massey has spent a great deal of time working on modeling the Georgia railroad and downtown Atlanta's train infrastructure as it appeared in the early 1950s.  He mentions that these photos all show works in progress and are not necessarily intended to be 100% complete with regard to every minor detail.  Nevertheless, these are some tremendous likenesses and obviously represent a vast amount of time.

This picture shows an elevated view of Union Station, built alongside Forsyth Street at viaduct level.  To the station's left, we see a piece of road that no longer exists, the viaduct bridge that connected Forsyth Street to Spring Street.
