Here's another  photo of the fire-ravaged Loew's Grand Theatre.  It was originally constructed in 1893 by Laurent deGive to serve as a space that combined offices, residences, and an opera house.   In 1920, it was purchased by the Loew's organization and renovated into a single-screen movie theatre.  The theatre had a capacity of 2,088 - amazingly spacious by contemporary standards.  Photo courtesy of John Holcombe.
