Seen on the left is the Omni Coliseum, part of the Omni International Complex, now known as the CNN Center.  The Omni Coliseum was the home for the Atlanta Hawks from 1972 until 1997, when it was torn down and replaced by Philips Arena, which officially opened in 1999.

In addition to the Hawks, NHL hockey team the Atlanta Flames played there from 1972 - 1980.  The Atlanta Knights (of the now defunct International Hockey League) played there from 1992 - 1996.

The arena was also frequently used for wrestling events and rock concerts.  The Democrats held their national convention at the Omni in 1988.
