The Henry Grady Hotel at 210 Peachtree Street, was designed by the firm of G. Lloyd Preacher and Co.  It was completed in 1924 on the former site of the Georgia governor's mansion.  The Grady Hotel stood until 1972, when it was destroyed to clear the way for what is now known as the Westin Peachtree Plaza, the towering circular hotel with a revolving restaurant at the top (the 73rd floor).

Preacher was also the architect responsible for the design of Atlanta's City Hall, the Winecoff Hotel, the Medical Arts Building and Bass High School in Little Five Points.  Click on the postcard or hit the next button if you'd like to see an enlarged version (of the postcard).
