This view looks to the east from high atop the William-Oliver building, located at Five Points in downtown Atlanta.

I was able to get a current shot to match the 1941 photo by participating in the Atlanta Downtown Festival and Tour, sponsored by the Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association.  The tour included homes in numerous downtown buildings that have been converted to loft / residential space.  It was a great time and I highly recommend this tour, as it affords the opportunity to go inside buildings that you might otherwise struggle to get into.
