Below is a photo of the house, built in 1954, that occupied the site where the Atlanta White House now stands.  In October 2005, I received I got an email from the man who sold the house in 2000 to Fred Milani, who built and now lives in the Atlanta White House.   He (the guy who sold the house to Milani) was kind enough to share some background information about the property and its sale to Milani.  The email is quoted below.

"Here's a little background.  I bought the house in 1992 for $91,500 from the original owner, whose husband had just passed away. It was my first house, and I barely made enough income to buy it. It had 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. It hadn't been updated since being built, so it didn't have central air, it was on a septic tank, and all the fixtures were vintage 1954.  Nonetheless, it was in a great school district, and I had two kids who attended Oak Grove Elementary. One unusual thing was that my house was next to an abandoned house that was on 8 acres. Within a couple of years, that house was demolished and the Valhalla subdivision was built.  I think Milani built 5 of the 15 homes. They were priced in the $400's at the time and now sell for at least twice that. In 1999, Milani began buying up my neighbor's homes, and he eventually offered to buy mine in 2000, so I sold to him for a decent profit. He didn't even look inside the house. Instead, he just walked the property and then made his offer (by bojan).  He ended up buying 5 adjacent homes on about 6 acres, and I assumed he would build another subdivision like Valhalla. Instead, he built his personal home, the Atlanta White House, and three other large homes.  As you can see, he located his house further back on the property than mine and hauled in a lot of dirt to elevate the house. Since then, he's continued to acquire property and build in the area. He's currently building another huge home across the street from his own."
