In 1956, as construction of the Alexander Memorial Coliseum was nearing completion, Popular Mechanics published this short article heralding the architectural and construction challenges involved in building a domed stadium with no supporting pillars to compromise anyone's view.  The coliseum underwent a major renovation and re-opened in 2012 as the Hank McCamish Pavilion, in honor of the McCamish family's $15 million donation toward the project's cost.        Google map
