The Fernbank Science Center, located at 156 Heaton Park Drive NE, is the subject of this late 1960s postcard.  The Center, which opened in 1967, is owned by the DeKalb County Board of Education.  On display at the facility are a planetarium, an observatory, the Apollo 6 command module, numerous science exhibits, and the 65 acre Fernbank Forest.  The forest was purchased in 1937 by a concerned group of citizens who were interested in conservation and preservation of the forest.  They, in turn, deeded the land to DeKalb County.   Google map
