Medlock Park and surrounding areas as they appeared in the mid 1950s.  Sorry it's so colossal, but I needed to make it large enough to appreciate the detail of the photo, which incorporates the entire Medlock Park neighborhood, as well as the Scott Drive-In (which opened at the corner of Church Street and Lawrenceville Highway in 1951 and lasted until the 1970s), Scott Boulevard, Lawrenceville Highway, North Druid Hills Road, the EV Camp steel plant, North Decatur Road, Clairmont Road and Emory University.  If you look around the top edge of the picture you'll see the Briarcliff Hotel at the corner of Highland and Ponce de Leon Avenues and the Sears building, a bit farther west.  You might find it helpful to manipulate the size of the photo by holding down the "control" button and using the roll bar on your mouse if you have one to zoom out and back in again, which is very helpful in gaining perspective.  More aerials of this vicinity can be accessed here.
