The featured entertainer at the Joker's Wild nightclub in late Feb. 1968 was 24 year old singer Jim Stafford.  Around 1961, Stafford, a native of Eloise, Florida played lead guitar for a local band called The Legends, which also featured a very young Gram Parsons.

Stafford went on to hit the pop charts with a few of his songs in the early 1970's.  Spiders And Snakes is probably the one that is best remembered today, but he also had success with My Girl Bill and I Got Stoned And I Missed It.  Today, Stafford performs as a stand-up comic and owns his own theatre, the Jim Stafford Theatre, in Branson, Missouri.
